Few healthy foods according to the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad(sw)






Prophet Muhammad S.A.W taught us to eat right. Our Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) loved and advised eating these food items – both for their taste, flavour, benefits and advantages. It is direct Sunnah to use these items while cooking food. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said these items are very beneficial for the human body and he loved eating them.
Here’s a list of our Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)’s favorite food items.
                               1.  Barley
                                  Benefits
Blood sugar
Eating whole-grain barley, improves regulation of blood sugar (i.e. reduce blood glucose response to a meal). Consuming breakfast cereals containing barley over weeks to months also improved cholesterol levels and glucose regulation.
 Blood pressure
Maintaining a low sodium intake is essential to lowering blood pressure. Barley balances blood pressure level.
Bone health
The iron, phosphorous, calciummagnesium, manganese, and zinc in barley all contribute to building and sustaining bone structure and strength.
Heart health
Barley's fiber, potassium, folate, and vitamin B6 content, combined with its lack of cholesterol, all support a healthy heart.
                                          2.  Dates
Benefits
Constipation: 
Dates are often considered as a cathartic food. This is why they are so commonly eaten by people suffering from constipation.
Bone Health and Strength: 
Date contains selenium, manganese, copper, and magnesium, all of which are essential for healthy bone development and strength, particularly as people begin to age and their bones gradually weaken. 
Anemia: 
Dates have a high mineral content, which is beneficial for many different health conditions, but their impressive levels of iron make them a perfect dietary supplement for people suffering from anemia. 
Allergies:
 One of the most attention-grabbing aspects of dates is the presence of organic sulfur in them. This is not a very common element to find in foods, but it does have a valuable amount of health benefits, including the reduction of allergic reactions and seasonal allergies.
Weight Gain:
If you are thin and slim and want to increase your weight, or if you are demanding to build your muscles, or you have become weak due to a serious medical problem – you need to eat dates!
Energy Booster: 
Dates contains sugars like glucose, fructose, and sucrose. Therefore, they are the perfect food for fast burst of energy.

Potassium is one of the prime ingredients in encouraging a healthy and responsive nervous system, and it also improves the speed and awareness of brain activity.

Figs are a decent source of potassium, a mineral that helps to control blood pressure.

Figs are a good source of dietary fiber. Fiber and fiber-rich foods may have a positive effect on weight management. 
Insulin-Lowering Properties
The leaves of the fig have repeatedly been shown to have anti diabetic properties and can actually reduce the amount of insulin needed by persons with diabetes who require insulin injections.
Cardiovascular Effects
In animal studies, fig leaves have been shown to lower levels of triglycerides (a form in which fats circulate in the bloodstream).

Power up Your Weight Loss
 It dramatically reduces cells’ ability to store fat by about 130 percent; and causes fat cells to disintegrate at a rate 246 percent higher than normal.
Migraine:
Migraine attacks can push the sufferer over the edge. These debilitating headaches can be triggered by loud noise, light, or stress. But grapes can prove to be beneficial for people suffering from migraines.  
 Alzheimer’s disease:
Resveratrol content in grapes can reduce the levels of amyloidal-beta peptides in Alzheimer’s disease patients. Grapes can also enhance the health of your brain and delay neurodegenerative diseases.
 Indigestion:
Grapes are useful to prevent dyspepsia. They can cure indigestion and irritation in the stomach.
 Breast cancer:
Purple coloured Concord grape juice can reduce the risk of breast cancer. Regular grape juice consumption has shown positive results when it comes to breast tumour mass reduction.
 Vision:
Grapes are considered the best bet for eyes. Grapes are a rich source of lutein and zeaxanthin that maintains good eye health. So, even if your eyesight is diminishing due to ageing, regular consumption of grapes can bring light back into your life!
Blood cholesterol:
Pterostilbene compound present in grapes can lower your cholesterol level and prevent numerous cardiovascular diseases.
 Kidney disorders:
Grapes can reduce uric acid and eliminate it from your body. This reduces pressure on your kidneys and keeps them healthy.
 Anti-ageing benefits:
The antioxidants present in grapes along with vitamin C protect your skin from free radicals and reverses the signs of ageing
                                              5.  Honey

Allah says in the Quran, "And your lord inspired the bee, to build your dwellings in hills, on trees, and in (human's) habitations. Then, to eat of all the produce and follow the ways of your Lord made easy. There comes forth from their bodies a drink of varying color, wherein is healing for men: Verily, in this is a sign for those who give thought." [Qur'an 16:68-69]
More than 1,400 years ago Allah and His messenger (PBUH), told us that honey can heal a variety of medical problems.
The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Make use of the two remedies: honey and the Quran." (Tirmithi)

Regular honey consumption lower triglyceride levels, especially when it is used to replace sugar.

Vitamin D is required for the body to absorb calcium. So if you have vitamin D deficiency, it is suggested to drink fortified milk which contains extra vitamins.

At the end of the day, a glass of lukewarm milk helps in reducing stress and relaxing the nerves. It boosts the energy and reduces the symptoms of PMS.
